As part of a master plan for Columbiadamm, Friesenstraße and Schwiebusser Straße, a new apartment building with an attached retail wing will be developed. The building is arranged around a shared green courtyard and creates a perimeter block development along Columbiadamm and Friesenstraße.
The cubing creates a central urban layout within the new development. The design adapts the urban planning defining stone finishes along the Columbiadamm. Both buildings are united thanks to their identical façade treatment and merged Ground Floor area which is appropriate for the site.
Thanks to large glazed panels of the “Belle-Etage” at 1st Floor level, both buildings give a floating appearance of the upper level and prevent a too heavy impression of the façade. The subordinate retail block lies in 90° to Columbiadamm and continuous the closing of the perimeter block development.
